Colour
Shackleton is a powerful man, he was also the authoritative one on the ship since he was the boss. Navy blue is the perfect colour for him since he was a sailor and the boss on the expedition.
Symbol
Shackleton is a leader that is why I chose to use a crown for the symbol. A crown, means in this case leadership and authority.

Like Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead, Shackleton helped his crew and made them safe from fights amongst the themselves. Shackleton with his quick wit and much more stopped a mutiny among his men like Rick has done many times.
